N-Power Stipend Delay: House of Reps Warns Sadiyya, Issues Order
The House of Representatives has expressed its anger over the continued delayed of the monthly stipends of N-Power beneficiaries across the country.
In an motion moved by one of the lawmakers, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Hajiya Sadiya Umar Farouq was called to explain before the house this incessant delay of January’s stipends to volunteers.
At the time of filing this report, the 500,000 beneficiaries were yet to be paid their January, a situation that has led to public outcry among the beneficiaries.
Some of them said their lives depended on the monthly N30,000. Those who expressed anger over the delay on the social media said the delay began when the N-SIP was moved from the office of the Vice President to the newly created ministry which is supervised by Hajia Sadiyya.
While appearing before the lawmakers, it was gathered Sadiyya promised them to quickly rectify the problem and ensure that beneficiaries receive their January salary before the end of business today, Friday, February 21, 2020.
A few days ago, the minister of finance hinted that the money had been release.
Those who lend their voices to the delay has dampen their morale.
